We are happy to announce a brand new version of CS 1.6: Retro Edition. This version is just like CS 1.5 so if you wanted to try the older legendary version of the game, you don't have to download CS 1.5 anymore. Just follow the link to get Retro Edition and enjoy. Because this CS has based it's design entirely on the older counter-strike. It carries this theme all over the gameplay starting with game menu with the one-point-five background and atmosphere.

After entering a server to play online or with bots you will notice other features: old-school player models, weapons and elements of hud. All of it makes this cstrike look rather iconic. Instead of installing modern models and skins this time we decided to go back in time and bring you the most original and classic look of Counter-Strike the way it was initially launched back in 1999. Since the game birthday passed just recently we thought it will be quite a great way to celebrate it.


It is important to notice that alongside the old-school design we also included a very unique and old yet still very playable map: cs_alpha_discounter - the location only those who lived during the CS 1.5 era will remember. However, all the new player should very much enjoy it as well since it's such a good map to play with bots or online with friends. Aside from the re-design the game is still 1.6 which means you can play on any available cs 1.6 server which you can find in the browser without the need to download CS 1.5.

If you want to find a location to play at, just hit "play cs" option and choose one of the hundreds servers out there. We added a lot of new locations and different countries so you will be able to find one that suits you best. We recommend to sort them by ping so you will join the best one to play without lags. However, if you're feeling lazy, just try the "random server" option and get connect to one of the best servers instantly. And don't worry about hurting the game, it's protected against all possible malicious server scripts, redirects and viruses.
